Love this article...it makes me appreciate that much more the opportunity to engage in the 5-day experiment: Learn about something, and focus fully on using/practicing/trying it for 5 days in a row. At the end of those 5 days...re-evaluate! Wrote about it here: http://www.5dayexperiment.com

Hi Mark -

This is so close to home. A recent event led to a series of circumstances in the last few weeks of July which put my whole family under massive pressure. It is over now but I still cannot believe just how many, and what, people will believe -totally without evidence. Nor how long they will continue to believe something even when the proven evidence points in totally the opposite direction. I have no idea what happened to common sense. I guess my grandma was right. She used to say that the problem with common sense is it's so very rare.

Cheers!

You've done it again! Here's the line:

"And be joyful. Go places. Do things. Enjoy yourself. Spend time with friends. Create memories. Accomplish great things."

Mark, about a year ago, you and I did our first "interview." (Remember? I was on my 4-week, annual sabbatical!) Well, now I'm on THIS year's "time off time," and I'm so glad I jumped over to your blog.

This advice, "And be joyful. Go places. Do things. Enjoy yourself. Spend time with friends. Create memories. Accomplish great things." is some of the best I've read in a long time. You know, if everyone who read this (c'mon, let's do it!) just drew 7 columns on a piece of paper, and brainstormed just 4 ideas for each one, we might be able to change the world just a little, little bit!

Ok, I gotta go draw some columns...

Oh, my God, you hit the nail on the head!!! And I will raise my hand and say, yes, I've gone through this cycle myself. Like Mahatma Ghandi said, "Be the change you want to see in the world." I asked my sister in law why she liked watching Jerry Springer and she said, "To be grateful that my life is so much better." Huh??? I don't need to watch or read about people wallowing in their misfortune to realize my life is better. And I've finally given up on all my bullshit whining, too, because it just keeps me running in the same place. And being right...it's like the surgeon who performed the surgery and called it a success and the patient died. Keep these articles coming, we all need a kick in the ass so we wake up to our Selves. Love and Light
